Manufacturing CPQ

Core guide

Manufacturing CPQ is Configure, Price, Quote software used to specify complex industrial products, apply technical and commercial rules, calculate cost and price, produce a quote, and often emit BOM, CAD or production data.

It is distinct from generic sales CPQ. The interesting problems are configuration validity, engineering constraints, variant cost, CTO versus ETO, and the handoff into ERP and PLM — not proposal templates.

This section will collect the pillar guides on architecture, requirements, capabilities and manufacturing-versus-sales CPQ. The first published article covers the benefits manufacturers actually get when those mechanisms exist.
